Sorry, there's no one here by that name.

I just got a call from a vendor for “Marlon Barvlet”. My predecessor’s first name was Marion, so I’m assuming that’s who they were calling for — misreading an ‘i’ as an ‘l’. But her last name, while starting with a ‘B’, ending with a ‘t’, and having an ‘l’ and a ‘v’ in the middle, is not Barvlet. Not. even. close.

I told them they had the wrong number. Marion retired four years ago, and I don’t know a soul named Marlon.
